Plain version: we keep what you give us, we show your compliments on walls, and we never sell any of it. Last updated 3 September 2026.
When you make an account we store your name, your username, your email address, and your town if you give one. Your password is scrambled before it is saved, so nobody — including us — can read it.
We also keep the compliments you write and the ones written about you, your private list of people, and anyone you have blocked.
Public: your name, your username, your town, and every compliment on your wall. Walls are meant to be shared. Anyone with the link can read one.
Private: your email address, your password, your list of people, and who you have blocked. Blocked people are never told.
We email you when somebody writes on your wall, and if you ask to reset your password. You can turn the first one off in Settings. We do not send advertising and we never give your address to anyone else.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not track you around other websites. There are no advertising cookies here.
We also count visits — which pages get looked at, and how many people come each day — so we can tell whether any of this is working. That count stays on our own server, we do not share it, and it does not follow you anywhere else. It does not include your name, your email address, or the address of the computer you are using.
One cookie, and it only remembers that you are signed in. Nothing else.
This app is for people 18 and over. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.
Email signup@complimentsforchange.com and ask. We will send you a copy of what we hold, or delete your account and everything on it. Ask and it happens — you do not have to give a reason.
The site runs over an encrypted connection and passwords are scrambled. No website can promise perfect safety, and we will not pretend otherwise. If something goes wrong we will tell you.
If this changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and change the date at the top.
